Completing Your Profile for Better Recommendations
Your profile is what a gallery reads about you before they see your work. Filling it in is optional and does not affect whether you can enter a call or whether your submission is accepted. It matters when you want people to be able to find you and understand your practice.
Where it lives
Open Settings from your account menu and stay on the Profile tab. Everything below is on that one page, and Save Changes at the bottom saves all of it.
Crafted Call also offers your profile at a useful moment: after a submission is received, the confirmation page shows Your artist profile with a note saying it is optional and does not affect your eligibility. Update profile takes you here, and Dismiss puts it away. If you are going to fill your profile in, that is a good moment, because your work is already fresh in your mind.
What you can fill in
Basic Information holds your name, your pronouns and your date of birth. Pronouns are used where Crafted Call or a gallery writes about you.
Contact Information holds your email, phone and address. Address fields adapt to your country, so you are asked for the right thing rather than a state and a ZIP code.
Professional Information holds your years of experience plus three tag lists: Specialties, Mediums and Styles. Type a tag and add it; add as many as genuinely apply. These are the fields galleries filter and search on, so they do more work than the prose does.
Social Media & Online Presence holds your website, Instagram, BlueSky, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube. You do not need all of them. One place a gallery can see more of your work is worth more than seven half-used accounts.
Artist Statement & Bio holds two separate pieces of writing. The bio is who you are and where you have shown. The statement is what the work is about. Galleries read them for different reasons, so resist merging them.
Your public address
If you want a public page, claim your handle in the profile URL section. Once set, your page is live at an address built from the handle you chose, and that is the link to put in an application, an email signature or a social profile.
Privacy settings
You decide what a visitor to your public page can see:
- Show Email Address
- Show Phone Number
- Allow Messages, which lets galleries contact you through Crafted Call rather than needing your address
