Beneath the Surface is a mixed media painting, made of found and recycled materials, and acrylic paint. This painting represents ones identity and the impact of the thrown away items that fuel our everyday lives. These mundane items bring joy and health to our lives but the remnants are thrown away only to become a problem to our world and environment. The board and mixed media materials were from pieces that I repurposed from my own recycling, if observed closely the viewer can try to decipher what objects were used to create this 3 dimensional painting. These items that were to be thrown away are now being used in a piece of art that will transform them from trash to treasure.
