In considering the evolution of the city, it was apparent to me that the city is a reflection of its people. We Americans have evolved from being one of the largest manufacturers in the world, to becoming one of the largest consumers in the world. One hundred fifty years ago, massive building were constructed to house machinery and workers to produce products. Now massive buildings are constructed to house consumers and to sell products. This quadtych was photographed digitally and printed with archival inks.
