New Constellation was created in 2022 using a variety of mixed media, beginning with acrylic and ending with watercolor and dry media. The work of Alphonse Mucha, for its distinctly decorative style and feminine figures, and the work of Anne Brigman, for its powerful compositions and figures -- as well as a need for mixed media in my own process reminding me of Brigman's need for solitude in hers. This painting was created on canvas board and the first layers were painted in acrylic before being covered in transparent watercolor ground and painted in transparent media from there.
