Having swum up the exact same river where he was born all those years ago the salmon has given everything he’s got to ensure the next generation. He will not even try to return to the sea, he can never return, the transformation he undertook to spawn was the to be the end of him but the beginning of a new life. The individual has sacrificed everything for the continuation of his species, he has given it all for the next generation. Perhaps there is wisdom to be found in a dead fish.
