$65
A discarded Polaroid found in an abandoned warehouse provides the inspiration and starting point for this piece. The image evokes a shadow of a forgotten moment and the ghost of people that have visited this place before. A photograph of the building's exterior has sections cut out to reveal the interloper's interior view, while sections of an old film reel are interwoven with the steel beams, mixing the past with the present, the concrete with the ephemeral.
Corin Rieke (she/her) creates large- and small-scale work that combines fiber arts, painting, and mixed media collage techniques. Based in Manchester, NH, Corin has shown pieces at local galleries including Mosaic Art Collective and Studio 550, as well as several locations across New York State.
