The palette I used for this piece pushed me to create depth without using black or white for the highlights and shadows in the flower petals. Instead I used black and white in the background to create a large contrast between itself and the flowers. This contrast allows the flowers to jump off the canvas, making it seem like they are reaching out to you, waiting for you to just grab one and dive in.
