I was inspired by old gay themes one sees in classical art. (i.e. St. Sebastian, homoerotic angels, Roman decadence, etc) The fellow in the chair was inspired by an antique shop owner I met a couple of times.
Andrew Freshour is a New Hampshire-based artist who received his BFA in illustration from the New Hampshire Institute of Art in 2013. Specializing in watercolor and pen & ink, his diverse subject matter includes religious figures, frogs, spell casters, regal ladies, and scenes of unapologetic homoeroticism. Through art he likes to explore the fantastical and everyday situations all with a touch of humor.
