Bluejays sit in the bramble of bittersweet berries, soaking in the last of the fall time sunshine.
I went into this painting expecting, much like cardinals, that bluejays would have some dimorphism, or a difference in color between males and females. I was surprised to discover they do not, but was pleased to paint both birds in their lovely winter blues.
This is painted with an assortment of watercolors on arches 140 lb cold press.
