“The Isolation of the Invisible.” The armor has shattered. Here, the "Patient" is confined within the bruised violets and dark grunge of CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome). Known to medicine as the most painful condition in existence—often termed the “suicide disease”—CRPS is the invisible cage that defines this phase of the labyrinth. The fragile, sliding porcelain mask and physical wire barriers represent the isolation women face when their suffering is dismissed or "locked away" by a system that cannot see their pain.
My artistic practice is an extension of my lifelong commitment to advocacy. I view the canvas and the intricate materials of mixed media as spaces to process the complexities of the human experience—specifically the intersections of pain, strength, and the systemic challenges of the healthcare world. Whether I am working on a textured acrylic piece like "Exhausted Sadness" or meticulously piecing together a mosaic of stained glass, my goal is to transform personal and societal struggles into a visual narrative that demands empathy. I believe that art is a powerful tool for grounding the spirit and giving a tangible voice to those who often feel unheard. Currently, my work focuses on the tactile nature of mixed media, blending the rhythmic precision of macrame and crochet with the bold, emotive strokes of acrylic painting. This layering of techniques reflects the multifaceted nature of survival and the beauty found in rebuilding. My philosophy is rooted in the idea that art should not only be seen but felt—acting as a catalyst for conversation, healing, and the relentless pursuit of equity.
