This piece is a striking transition in my work, moving from the creatures of the New Hampshire woods to the internal landscape of the human spirit. In "Bohemian Woman with Rose Quartz Earring," I use the interplay of light and dense enamel to explore a sense of quiet, enduring resilience.
The composition relies on the tension between the raw, textured background and the luminosity of the figure’s gaze. By layering transparent glass with the heavy opacity of the mustard-yellow beanie and deep autumnal hair, I aim to ground the subject in a world that feels both rugged and ethereal. The rose quartz earring serves as a singular point of light—a symbol of soft, centered strength amidst a weathered environment. Through this work, I continue my exploration of nature's "wildness," finding it not just in the beings that run through the forest, but in the untamed, bohemian soul.
