Manchester has spent 180 years becoming itself. From the mills along the Merrimack to the neighborhoods, industries, and people who have reshaped the city again and again, its history is not one fixed moment but like the river a continuous act of change. To reflect on a place is to look closely at what came before, recognize what remains, and notice what is still unfolding.
Mosaic Art Collective is seeking submissions that explore Manchester's history, identity, and evolution over the past 180 years, including the city as it exists today. Works that reference the city's industrial past, its people, its neighborhoods, or its present moment and ongoing transformation are welcome for this juried open call. Work can be documentary or interpretive, as long as it speaks to the theme of reflection on Manchester's history and present. All media are welcome, excluding reproductions and AI generated work.
Reflections 180 will be a lightly juried call with two guest
Mosaic Art Collective and its jury committee reserve the right to decline, remove, or exclude any submitted work from consideration or display at their sole discretion. This includes, but is not limited to, works that:
Do not align with the theme, vision, or curatorial direction of the exhibition
Do not meet the technical, dimensional, or presentation standards outlined in the submission requirements
Are deemed inappropriate for the gallery's venue, audience, or community context
Contain content that is considered hateful, discriminatory, harmful, or offensive in nature
Do not meet the exhibition's display or installation requirements upon delivery
Submission of work does not guarantee acceptance or exhibition. This does not mean your work isn't "good" or "valued" it just means the gallery didn't feel it fit for any number of reasons. All curatorial decisions are final.
Mosaic Exhibitions Committee reserves the right to not accept a piece of work that isn't prepared to hang on the wall. There is a $5 wiring fee due at the time of drop off if you do not have a method to hang your work. Mosaic recognizes that some art can not have a wire attached to the piece in that event please contact the exhibitions committee to communicate your needs for your piece so that the gallery can be prepared to properly and safely care for your art.
Art work that is not picked up at the end of an exhibition is subject to a $10/day Storage Fee. After a month if artwork is abandoned it becomes property of the gallery and will be processed at the discretion of the gallery. Please take a moment to note the Pick up and Drop off Windows to arrange to do so during those times. Or contact exhibitions@mosaicartcollective.com to arrange for a different time.

All work must be ready to hang, with the proper hanging wires. If you are not familiar with wiring your work, please review the proper way to wire with d-rings and picture-hanging wire. This will ensure the longevity of your work and will make it more appealing to potential buyers.
